I am going to give you guys as much information about the tournament as I can think of. If, after reading this, you have additional questions, call me (Justin Freeman) at (252) 287-9750.
1. Entry Fee – Please bring the entry fee to the Tournament Director, Justin Freeman, prior to your first game. You should also submit your completed waiver or proof of insurance at this time. (This form is attached.) The entry fee may be paid in cash, personal check, or money order. Entry fee is $100 for 8-under and $150 for all other divisions.
2. Games Times - Be prepared to play 30 minutes prior to your scheduled game time. If we get ahead of schedule, we may start early. Game time is forfeit time. All game times have been listed in the attached tournament bracket. All games will be played at the Ahoskie Creek Recreational Complex located behind Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. In the event of inclimate weather, game times may be changed at the tournament director's discretion.
3. Waiver - The attached waiver must list all players and the signature of at least one parent and brought to the tournament before a team is allowed to play. Submit this with entry fee.
4. Admission - We will be charging admission for fans, so please make sure your fans bring cash with them. The charge for admission is $5 for general admission and $3 for children 12 and under as well as seniors age 65 and up.
5. Batting Cage – We are trying to install a batting cage on site but it may not be ready for the tournament. If it is ready, it will be used on a first come, first served basis. Please limit cage time to 10 minutes per team.
6. Home/Away - The home team will be decided by a coin flip during the pre-game coaches' conference.
7. Taking Infield - Each team will have a maximum of 7 minutes to take a round of infield/outfield during pre-game, schedule permitting. The team on the top line of the bracket will take infield first.
8. Raffle - We will be raffling all weekend for a first-prize Combat Grifter alloy barrel and composite handle in multiple sizes. Other prizes are also available.
9. Concessions - Our concessions will be amazing and will change daily so come hungry. We will have everything you need to beat the heat as well. Please support our volunteers that work so hard in the concession stand.
10. Pictures and DVDs - We will have photographers and videographers on hand taking action shots and taping the games.
11. Trophies - 1st and 2nd place teams will be awarded a team trophy. The 1st place team will also receive 13 individual trophies. Also, 1 tournament MVP will be selected by the winning team's coach. This player will receive an awesome trophy.
12. Birth Certificates - None Required
13. Time Limit - The umpire will not start any new innings after 2 hours from the first pitch, unless a tie. For Coach Pitch, no new innings will start after 65 minutes from the first pitch.
14. Rules - Tar Heel League Rules except we will have no limitations on number of innings pitched or the amount of rest required between appearances for pitchers.
